Anochrome Ltd receives environmental certification

Anochrome Ltd has been awarded the globally-recognised ISO 14001 certification for its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.

It was the first time the Walsall-based electroplating and coatings expert, which works predominantly with tier 1 automotive suppliers, had applied for the respected certification.

Remarkably, the business achieved the certification with no Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

ISO 14001 recognises a business’ environmental performance and its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint while enhancing operational efficiency.

The framework encompasses various aspects, from resource usage and waste management to monitoring environmental performance and involving stakeholders in environmental commitments.

Sue Guilmant, Anochrome Group Conformance Manager, said: “In my 25 years as a lead auditor, I have never experienced an initial certification audit with zero NCRs. This is an incredible achievement by the site and team.”

Steve Norman, UK Divisional Director, said: “This certification is not just a mark of achievement, it’s a reflection of our values.

“We are proud of the work we’ve done to integrate environmental stewardship into our operations and we remain committed to finding even more sustainable solutions going forward.

“We have made significant investments at our Walsall site in recent months that will have an enormous impact on the amount of energy we consume.”

Auditors visited Anochrome Ltd recently, examining the business’ environmental management, sustainability, regulatory compliance and plans for continuous improvement.

Anochrome Ltd already held the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) accreditation from the Environment Agency, as well as IATF 16949 (Quality Management System).

The business processes many millions of components every week, including industrial fixings and automotive parts.

Meanwhile, Anochrome Technologies and Wolverhampton Electo Plating Ltd, have both received ISO 14001 re-certification.

All six businesses within the Anochrome Group – Wolverhampton Electro Plating, Inlex Locking, Anochrome Ltd, Anochrome Technologies, Anocote Czech Republic and Anocote Polska – now hold ISO 14001.
