Over 70 Years’ Experience

Anochrome Group was founded in Wolverhampton in 1946 by the family of the current owners. We’ve grown into the UK’s largest independent specialist surface coatings company. Since the early 2000s we’ve also begun setting up new European facilities.

What is metal finishing?

Metal finishing, also known as surface coating, refers to a series of processes that enhance the properties of a metal part. The goals can include improving appearance, durability, corrosion resistance, and other functional properties. Metal finishing processes include electroplating, anodising, passivation, and more. Most metallic parts will have gone through some sort of finishing process before a consumer comes into contact with them. These surface treatments are important to help components withstand environmental or mechanical factors, and increase longevity.

We can provide help for a huge range of problems. We’ve worked with a wide range of industries, from the automotive to the clean energy sector, and we’re constantly upgrading our processes. No matter if your parts are corroding prematurely, if you are worried about hydrogen embrittlement or torque tension control, if your fasteners do not remain tightened, or if your parts are lacking that aesthetically pleasing look. Alternatively, if you simply need advice please contact us. One of our application engineers will be happy to assist you.
