Anochrome introduces a PFAS-free coating solution for the Wind Energy Sector
Posted on Mar 25, 2025A metal finishing leader has introduced a PFAS-free coating system to support the wind energy sector in meeting stringent environmental specifications.
In collaboration with NOF Metal Coatings Europe, Anochrome Group now offers Geomet® 321 + PLUS® VLh 2 Silver. It is a coating system completely free of PFAS that still manages to produce impressive protection performance.
Anochrome, which has four businesses across sites in the West Midlands, is a NOF Metal Coatings Europe licensee.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), often referred to as ‘forever chemicals,’ are a group of synthetic compounds widely used for their non-stick, water-resistant and durable properties.
However, their persistence in the environment and potential health risks have driven global efforts to phase out PFAS-based materials.
Steve Norman, UK Divisional Director at Anochrome Group, said: “Industries reliant on high-performance coatings face the challenge of balancing durability, corrosion protection and environmental responsibility.
“With Geomet® 321 + PLUS® VLh 2 Silver, businesses can move forward and align themselves with evolving regulatory standards.
“The introduction of this high-performance coating aligns seamlessly with Anochrome Group’s core mission: to lead the surface coatings industry in environmental innovation, sustainability and advanced research and development (R&D).
“By eliminating PFAS from our coating systems, we can reduce environmental impact while maintaining superior corrosion resistance and performance – critical in demanding industries such as wind energy, oil and gas, marine and infrastructure.”
Wind energy infrastructure operates under some of the harshest environmental conditions, requiring exceptional protection against corrosion, salt spray and extreme weather.
Geomet® 321 + PLUS® VLh 2 Silver is designed to meet these demanding specifications while supporting industry-wide sustainability objectives.
