Waxes and lubricated coatings play an important role in improving the performance of electroplated and colloidal finishes, especially in applications where controlled friction, consistent torque, and enhanced durability are required. These coatings generally fall into two categories:
- Integral lubricated coatings, where the lubricant is blended directly into the coating and distributed throughout its structure.
- Surface lubrication, where a wax or oil-based topcoat provides the required lubricity on the surface.

What We Offer
The Anochrome Group supplies a wide range of waxes and lubricants that can be applied as post-coating treatments, including barrel-applied waxes for large-volume work. Most electroplated and colloidal coatings used in torsional or assembly-critical applications are enhanced with a topcoat lubricant, offering a more economical alternative to resin-bonded dry film lubricants while remaining compatible with a wide variety of standard finishes.

For specialist requirements – such as Taptite®, thread-forming screws, or applications demanding controlled torque-tension values – the recommended system is omniTECHNIK precote® top 300. This updated successor to Nytorq provides consistent lubrication performance with enhanced UV stability and improved colour retention.
In certain cases, such as reducing noise during installation of thread-locking or thread-forming screws, wax coatings can also be applied selectively to specific areas of the thread rather than the entire fastener.
