precote® 80
High-strength, heat-resistant threadlocking coating
precote® 80, precote® 80-3 and precote® 80-8 are varnish-like, solvent-free coating systems based on microencapsulated acrylates. They are designed to provide reliable thread locking and sealing for both internal and external threaded parts.
Once dried, the coating forms a tack-free, non-sticky film. During assembly, compressive and shear forces break the microcapsules, releasing the active components, which mix and harden in the thread.
All versions of precote® 80 provide high-strength thread locking, including reliable locking performance at elevated temperatures. The coating is suitable for both external and internal threads.
Versions
precote® 80: Suitable for threads larger than M6 with pitches greater than 1 mm.
precote® 80-3: Offers accelerated curing for threads greater than M6 and produces a yellow UV marker visible under UV light.
precote® 80-8: Suitable for threads up to and including M6, or fine-pitch threads up to M10 x 1. It produces a white UV marker visible under UV light.
Applications
precote® 80 is well suited to a wide range of assembly processes, particularly high-volume and serial production environments.
Typical applications include electronics, two-wheel vehicles, automotive assemblies, household appliances, office machines, computers, electric motors and e-mobility components.
