SurTec develops, manufactures and supplies chemical specialities for surface treatment across a wide variety of sectors, including automotive, construction, aerospace and defence.

Headquartered in Germany, the business has grown considerably over more than 30 years and now has subsidiaries in 22 countries around the world, from the Philippines to South Africa.

SurTec is committed to the highest quality to meet customer requirements, backed up by technical consultation and related services.

Its products and processes ensure superior economy based on price against performance evaluations and SurTec also has strong environmental credentials. Products have been Chromium(VI)-free for almost 10 years, for example.

In 2022 SurTec acquired omniTECHNIK Mikroverkapselungs GmbH, a specialist for thread locking products. The transaction also included the acquisition of the brand precote in the USA.

At Anochrome, we are proud to supply a range of precote products via Inlex Locking, as well as SurTec 650 through Anotec.

Inlex has been a trusted coatings partner for precote products for many years and has worked with the brand to test and develop new products.

SurTec 650, meanwhile, is a high-performance trivalent chromium passivation process increasingly specified in the defence and aerospace sectors. It was added to Anotec’s repertoire in 2026.

SurTec is a business unit of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities GmbH, Munich, a 100% subsidiary of Freudenberg SE, a global giant founded over 175 years ago which now has a workforce in excess of 50,000 people.
